Financial Office

Project by 1100 Architect (Senior Architectural Designer: Sebastian Kaempf, Architectural Designer: Anke Roggenbuck)

The design of this two full floor office for a venture capital firm facilitates the organization’s operations and communicates their guiding principles. Occupying two floors in a midtown Manhattan highrise building, all of the public spaces are on the lower level and private work areas are on the upper floor. The open plan encourages interaction between principals and employees. Floor-to-ceiling glass partitions enclose most meeting rooms, allowing for private conversation while maintaining an open feel. The sharp, clean, and direct lines of the space – exemplified by the sculptural central staircase – provide a complementary environment for the client’s contemporary art collection. The staircase connecting the two floors consists of seventy-two end-supported folded solid stainless-steel bars.
